| Obverse description | The note is framed by an ornate foliate border with a bee motif at each corner, enclosing the municipal blazons of Avignon at top centre, flanked by the arms of Carpentras to the left and Orange to the right, with the coat of arms of Apt also present. The denomination "0.50" is rendered in each of the four corner cartouches, with reserved fields for the manuscript signatures of the President and the Treasurer. The printer's imprint of Berger-Levrault appears at the foot of the design. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is enclosed within a finely engraved geometric guilloche border with rosette medallions at intervals, the denomination "0.50" placed in each corner cartouche. A circular vignette at top centre carries the seal of the Chambre de Commerce d'Avignon with anchor and caduceus devices. A repeating typographic underprint of "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE D'AVIGNON" covers the central field, over which the main text is set and a large red cursive "50" overprint is superimposed. |
