En attendant leur liquidation définitive, tout porteur de ces bons pourra en exiger le remboursement, même à vue, lorsqu'il en présentera pour une somme d'au moins 100 francs. S'il y a moins de 100 francs, cette somme pourra être complétée par des billets de la Banque de France. Le Conseil municipal de Saint-Brieuc et la Chambre de Commerce des Côtes-du-Nord détermineront l'époque de la liquidation des bons, la période de remboursement ne pouvant être inférieure à cinq ans à partir de la date d'émission des premiers bons. |

During the First World War, the withdrawal of coin from circulation — driven by hoarding and metal demands — forced hundreds of French regional chambers of commerce to issue their own small-denomination emergency notes. The Côtes-du-Nord chamber was one of them, and like most of its contemporaries, it turned to Oberthur in Rennes, the dominant provincial security printer of the period, which produced emergency fractional notes for chambers across Brittany and well beyond.
