| Obverse description | Green letterpress note with a guilloche-pattern underprint bearing the name ROCHEFORT-SUR-MER across the centre. The issuer's title CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE ROCHEFORT-SUR-MER and the authorising deliberation date appear at the top, beneath which the large denomination numeral '50' and the word CENTIMES dominate the field. A circular red official stamp of the Chambre de Commerce, bearing a vignette of a tall-masted sailing vessel, is applied at centre, flanked by manuscript signatures of the Trésorier and the Président; the names of the five authorised arrondissements — ROCHEFORT, SAINTES, ST JEAN D'ANGÉLY, JONZAC and MARENNES — are printed in the side margins and along the bottom border, with the printer's imprint below. |

| Reverse description | Dark green letterpress reverse with a large '50' guilloche underprint at centre. The four corners carry circular medallions: the upper two bear '2me SERIE' inscriptions framed by laurel sprays, while the lower two display the denomination '0,50' in bold figures. The central field contains two blocks of text setting out the guarantee and redemption conditions, stating that the note is backed by an equal-value deposit at the Banque de France and is exchangeable in multiples of ten at the Banque de France counter in Rochefort-sur-Mer, with a mandatory redemption deadline of 31 December 1920. |
