Reverse description The reverse, printed entirely in blue, presents the legal guarantee text in letterpress across the central field, flanked at upper left and right by circular medallions bearing the denomination "50 CENTIMES". The lower centre carries a circular vignette with the municipal coat of arms of Tulle, surrounded by oak and laurel branches, with the printer's imprint "IMP. P. DUMONT, LIMOGES" at the lower right. Comments

French chambers of commerce were authorized to issue emergency small-change notes during WWI after the hoarding of metal coinage created a severe transactional crisis across the country — by mid-1915, fractional coins had essentially disappeared from circulation. The Corrèze chamber's issues filled that gap locally, printed by Pierre Dumont in nearby Limoges. The JP#51 series spans several signature varieties, which accounts for the range of sub-references cataloged here.
