Obverse description A Gallic rooster standing left occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with detailed plumage. To the upper right, a small heraldic shield bearing the monogram 'RF' (République Française) is prominently placed. The circular legend 'AFRIQUE EQUATORIALE FRANÇAISE LIBRE' runs along the periphery, reading from lower left to lower right. The coin is struck on a plain flan with a beaded border encircling the entire design. The overall style is emblematic of Free French colonial coinage of the Second World War period.
