50 Centésimos Pattern

Uruguay's 1976 military government commissioned a series of pattern strikes as part of a broader currency reform effort following years of inflation that had gutted the purchasing power of the peso. This 50 centésimos piece was never adopted for circulation — the denomination itself was economically obsolete almost before the dies were finished.

KM# Pn10 is sparsely documented, and confirmed surviving examples are few.
