The arms are flanked on each side by two cornucopiae and two standing Liberty figures wearing Phrygian caps, with crossed cannons, rifles, and flags radiating outward in a symmetrical heraldic arrangement. A mural crown surmounts the shield at the apex. The date 1871 appears beneath the central shield in the lower field. The entire design is framed by a finely toothed border. |
