| Beschrijving voorzijde | Large cast bronze cash coin of exceptional size, featuring a central square perforation framed by a raised inner rim. Four Chinese characters in traditional regular script (kaishu) are disposed radially around the central hole in the conventional cross-reading arrangement: 慶 (top), 通 (right), 元 (bottom), 寶 (left), together reading Qingyuan Tongbao. The bold, well-formed characters exhibit fine calligraphic quality with deep relief casting. A plain raised outer rim borders the flat field, which shows an attractive dark brown patina with traces of green cuprite. |
