Reverse description Plain flat field with a central square perforation framed by a raised inner rim, bearing multiple columns of cast Chinese characters in traditional regular script disposed around the central hole. Above the hole: 勅 (imperial edict). To the right of the hole, a vertical column reads 庆元元年皇 (first year of Qingyuan, imperial). To the left, a vertical column reads 改铸此号钱 (recast under this reign title currency). Below the hole: 五十料 (denomination of 50 units). The inscription collectively records the imperial edict authorizing the casting of this 50-cash denomination coin in the first year of the Qingyuan era. The reverse displays the same dark patina as the obverse, with a plain raised outer rim.
