Reverse description The reverse presents a detailed architectural rendering of the Cathedral of St. Simon the Canaanite (Zelotes) at New Athos (New Afon), Abkhazia, depicted in three-quarter perspective view occupying the right and lower field. To the upper left, a Georgian-style ornate cross within a circle and three chalices or candlesticks are shown in relief, serving as religious symbols associated with the Apostle. A curved Cyrillic legend arcs around the upper periphery reading 'АЦҚЬА СИМОН КАНАНИТ ИЗКУ АФОН ҾЫЦТӘИ АНЫХА' (The New Afon Cathedral of St. Simon Zelotes, Apostle). In the lower exergue, the inscription 'IX-X ашо.' denotes the 9th–10th century dating of the original structure.
