| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Rwanda occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing a knot symbol flanked by a sorghum plant to the left and a coffee branch to the right, all supported by an interlaced rope design at the base, with a radiant sun at the chief. The arms are encircled by a raised inner ring bearing the legend REPUBULIKA Y'U RWANDA at the top and the motto UBUMWE-UMURIMO-GUKUNDA IGIHUGU on a scroll at the base. The outer legend BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA arcs along the upper periphery. The denomination 50 is prominently displayed at the bottom of the field, flanked by AMAFARANGA to the left and MIRONGO ITANU to the right. |
