| Obverse description | The papal coat of arms of Pope Francis occupies the central field, featuring a shield charged with the Christogram 'IHS' within a radiant sun above a star and a nard flower, flanked by the crossed keys of Saint Peter surmounted by the papal tiara. A scroll beneath the shield bears the papal motto 'MISERANDO ATQUE ELIGENDO' in Latin. Small maltese cross ornaments appear at the left and right of the coat of arms in the field.
