Superimposed at the lower left is the coloured Coat of Arms of Novosibirsk, depicting a shield divided with a green upper section bearing a blue diagonal band representing the Ob River, flanked by two black sable supporters and surmounted by a golden mural crown; a decorative base with interlaced multicoloured bands appears below the shield. This issue belongs to a Lao commemorative series pairing the country's currency with major foreign cities — an arrangement that has less to do with Laos than with the wholesale market for themed silver rounds sold to collectors abroad.
