| Obverse description | Central field depicts a highly detailed frontal view of Pha That Luang (the Great Stupa of Vientiane), the national symbol of Laos, rendered in high relief with its characteristic tiered spires, ornamental cloister walls, and grand arched gateway. The background field is polished to a mirror-like black finish, creating strong contrast with the frosted architectural motif. The curved legend BANK OF THE LAO PDR arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin characters. The fineness mark Ag 925 appears vertically along the left inner field, and the mint mark of the Moscow Mint is visible to the right of the central design.
