| Obverse description | Printed in brown and ochre on cream paper, the obverse is dominated by a central rectangular frame enclosing the denomination in bold Gothic blackletter script — '50 Millionen Mark' — over a lightly printed eagle underprint. Two ornamental ribbon banners arc across the top and bottom of the vignette, each bearing the issuer's name 'Landesbank der Rheinprovinz' flanked by foliate sprigs. Below the central frame, a three-line payment clause in Fraktur script names Düsseldorf and the date 15 September 1923, followed by a manuscript signature of the General Direktion. To the right, a vertical side panel repeats the denomination in letterpress, with a circular embossed seal of the Rheinprovinz bearing the Prussian eagle, and the series designation 'Reihe 7' printed in red-brown. |
