| 表面の説明 | Notgeld cheque-format emergency note printed in black letterpress on pale stock, with a light blue underprint vignette of a coin or seal motif occupying the left panel. The denomination 'Fünfzig Millionen Mk.' is set in bold blackletter type at centre, above the issue date of 8 August 1923, with the issuing authority text arranged in multiple lines above. A diagonal red overprint reading 'Nur zur Verrechnung' (for clearing purposes only) crosses the left panel, while to the right a circular red ink stamp of the Stadtbank Scheibenberg — bearing an armorial vignette of two figures flanking a crowned shield — and a boxed serial number complete the design. |

Scheibenberg is a small mining town in the Erzgebirge, and like hundreds of German municipalities in late 1923, its local Stadtbank issued emergency Notgeld as the Reichsmark collapsed into hyperinflation. By the time fifty-million-mark denominations were necessary, the Reichsbank's own presses could not keep pace with demand, and municipalities, savings banks, and even private firms were authorized — or simply tolerated — as supplementary issuers.
Notes from minor Saxon issuers like this one were rarely saved in quantity; most were spent within days and physically worn out before stabilization came with the Rentenmark in November 1923.
