The large numeral '50' dominates the upper centre in ornamental outline style, below which 'Fünfzig Millionen MARK' is printed in heavy black Fraktur script. The lower portion carries two columns of German text detailing the legal tender provisions, the issuing authority 'Kreisgemeinde Pfalz', the place and date 'Speyer a. Rh., den 1. | Descripción del reverso | Printed in salmon-pink and dark brown on cream paper, the reverse is enclosed within a bold ornamental border composed of repeated cross-hatch and crown motifs. A central vignette presents the rampant Palatinate lion in fine line-engraved style, set against a starburst guilloche background; the denomination numerals '50' appear in large outlined figures to the left and right of the lion. Repeated light underprint numerals '50' are scattered across the field, and the inscriptions 'NOTGELD KREISGEMEINDE PFALZ' and 'FÜNFZIG MILLIONEN MARK' run along the top and bottom borders respectively in block lettering. |
