| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in black and green on white paper, with a wave-pattern border running along all four edges. At upper left, a bold decorative initial 'F' anchors the large typeset denomination 'FÜNFZIG MILLIARDEN MARK' in the centre field. To the lower left, a small heraldic shield vignette bearing the Thuringian coat of arms is set within a dark rectangular panel.
