| 表面の説明 | Central square perforation (方孔, fāng kǒng) surrounded by a raised inner rim, flanked on either side by two cast Chinese seal-script characters reading right to left: 銖 (Zhū) to the right of the hole and 五 (Wǔ) to the left, denoting the denomination of five zhu. The characters are rendered in the archaic seal script (篆書) characteristic of early Western Han coinage, with bold, raised strokes set against a flat field. A plain outer rim encircles the design. The overall workmanship reflects the early standardized Wu Zhu series introduced under Emperor Wu of Han. |
