Stylized auspicious cloud motifs flank the upper left and right corners of the composition, adding a classical decorative element. The inscription 紫禁城建成600年 (600th Anniversary of the Completion of the Forbidden City) is engraved in Chinese characters along the upper border. The denomination 5元 appears in the lower left field.
