The two figures face one another in a dignified composition, with architectural vignettes — a multi-storied Tibetan palace structure at lower left and a traditional Chinese gate tower at lower right — flanking the scene to evoke the historical Sino-Tibetan alliance. The denomination 5元 appears in bold numerals at the left field, while the legend 松赞干布 arcs along the upper left and the regnal dates 公元593-650年 arc along the upper right, all executed against a brilliantly polished proof surface. |
