Reverse description The reverse presents a finely engraved scene depicting Songtsen Gampo (松赞干布), the seventh-century Tibetan emperor, standing alongside Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty, both rendered in elaborate period court attire with intricate decorative detail. The two figures face one another in a dignified composition, with architectural vignettes — a multi-storied Tibetan palace structure at lower left and a traditional Chinese gate tower at lower right — flanking the scene to evoke the historical Sino-Tibetan alliance. The denomination 5元 appears in bold numerals at the left field, while the legend 松赞干布 arcs along the upper left and the regnal dates 公元593-650年 arc along the upper right, all executed against a brilliantly polished proof surface.
