Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a large central guilloche medallion bearing the numeral 5 and the inscription FIVE DOLLARS / NATIONAL CURRENCY in bold letterpress, framed by intricate lathe-work scrollwork and ornamental corner devices. The bank name BANK OF CHINA and its Russian equivalent КИТАЙСКІЙ БАНКЪ are printed across the top, with the place name HARBIN / ХАРБИНЪ displayed in the lower field flanking the serial number. The imprint AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY and the date SEPTEMBER 1918 appear at the bottom.
