| Beschrijving keerzijde | Richly decorated field surrounding a central square perforation, featuring five bats (phúc) arranged symmetrically around the hole as symbols of good fortune and the denomination five. The character 五 (năm, meaning five) appears to the right of the hole and 福 (phúc, meaning fortune/bat) to the left. Above the hole, auspicious clouds and a phoenix or crane in flight are depicted in finely engraved relief; below and flanking the hole, three stylized dragon or bat figures emerge from swirling wave or cloud motifs. The intricate decorative program, combining the five-bat motif with celestial imagery, is characteristic of the Nguyễn dynasty's elaborate silver coinage. |
