Above the hole, auspicious clouds and a phoenix or crane in flight are depicted in finely engraved relief; below and flanking the hole, three stylized dragon or bat figures emerge from swirling wave or cloud motifs. The intricate decorative program, combining the five-bat motif with celestial imagery, is characteristic of the Nguyễn dynasty's elaborate silver coinage. |
