Beschrijving voorzijde	The Samoan national coat of arms is depicted centrally within a field of horizontal wave lines, symbolising the Pacific Ocean. The arms feature a shield bearing the Southern Cross constellation and a coconut palm, supported by two Samoan warriors, with a scroll below. The date range '1998 - 2000' arcs along the upper right border legend, while 'SAMOA' runs vertically along the right edge and the denomination '$5' appears in the lower right. The coin is struck in the distinctive jagged half-moon shape, with the truncated left edge forming the irregular outline.
