Printed entirely in red intaglio on a white cotton paper ground, the reverse is dominated by a large central vignette of the Ecuadorian coat of arms — an oval shield surmounted by a condor with spread wings, flanked by pairs of Ecuadorian national flags and fasces. Dense guilloche latticework fills the lateral panels, each bearing the numeral "5" at the corners and in side cartouches. The issuer's legend "BANCO CENTRAL DEL ECUADOR" arches across the top, and the denomination "CINCO SUCRES" appears in a recessed banner at the foot, with the printer's imprint below. |
