Opmerkingen

The Banco Central del Ecuador's reliance on the American Bank Note Company stretched across decades and multiple denominations, but by the mid-1970s ABNC was already in financial difficulty — the company declared bankruptcy in 1990, and contracts from this period represent some of its final years of active production for Latin American clients. Ecuador was among the last countries still commissioning work from them.

The 5 Sucres denomination held stubbornly low purchasing power through this issue's lifespan, eroded by inflation that accelerated sharply in the early 1980s. Notes from the later dates in this range circulated hard.
