Obverse description Central shield bearing the rampant lion of Holland, the arms surmounted by a large ornate crown with floral finials; the date 1692 appears above the crown in the upper field. The denomination numeral '5' is positioned to the left of the shield and the letter 'S' to the right, flanking the arms. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, interrupted by the crown and shield, reading MO : NO : ARGENT : COMIT : HOLL, proclaiming the new silver coinage of the County of Holland. The coin is struck with a pronounced milled edge border.
