| Descrizione del dritto | Central device comprises the crowned arms of Holland — a rampant lion within a shield surmounted by an elaborate count's crown with foliate finials — occupying the majority of the field. The denomination numeral '5' appears to the left of the shield and the letter 'S' (for Stuivers) to the right. The circular Latin legend reads MO · NO · AR · ARGENT · COMIT · HOLL, with the date 1692 divided and displayed prominently at the top of the coin flanking the crown. The border is formed by a continuous row of fine milled dentils. The engraving is executed in a bold Baroque style characteristic of late seventeenth-century Dutch provincial coinage. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse presents a full-length standing figure of the Maid of Holland (Nederlandse Maagd), a draped allegorical female personification of the Province of Holland, facing slightly to the left. She raises her right arm aloft to hold a broad-brimmed hat of liberty atop a long staff or lance, while her left arm rests upon an ornate Baroque pedestal or altar decorated with scrollwork and bearing a coat of arms. The figure is robustly rendered in high relief with flowing Classical drapery in the Baroque tradition. The circular Latin legend HAC NITIMVR HANC TVEMVR (meaning 'On her we lean, her we protect') surrounds the device, with a dentilated border at the rim. |
