Saint George, depicted as a heroic nude figure save for a billowing cloak and crested helmet, is shown mounted on a rearing horse and plunging a broken lance downward into the writhing dragon beneath the horse's hooves. The dramatic scene is rendered in bold sculptural relief, filling nearly the entire field. The designer's name PISTRUCCI appears incuse along the lower ground line, while the date 2018 and the Royal Mint mintmark are inscribed in the exergue below. |
