Beschrijving keerzijde	Central intaglio vignette, set within an arched oval frame, portrays a woman harvesting ripe coffee cherries from a laden branch amid lush foliage. Guilloche rosettes bearing the numeral "5" occupy the upper corners, flanked by stylised antelope figures at the lower corners. The denomination inscription in English and Swahili appears in a decorative panel along the lower margin, printed in blue against a pink and white underprint.

Opmerkingen	The 1979 issue followed the fall of Idi Amin's government in April of that year, when Ugandan forces backed by Tanzania drove Amin from power. A new series was required quickly, and the existing relationship with Thomas De La Rue meant turnaround was relatively fast — though the political situation during printing was still fluid enough that the notes entered circulation under a transitional authority rather than a stable postwar government. The 5 Shillings denomination was already modest by 1979, with inflation having eroded its purchasing power significantly during the Amin years.
