| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the quartered arms of Grand Master Manuel Pinto de Fonseca, combining the armorial bearings of the Order of Malta with those of the Pinto family, all within an ornate baroque cartouche. The shield is surmounted by a large floreated crown. The circular legend, interrupted by the crown at top, reads F·EMMANVEL PINTO M·M·HSS with the date 1756 in the upper field. The rim is decorated with a fine toothed border throughout. |
