Obverse description Central field features the royal cipher of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, rendered as an ornate heraldic cartouche divided into quadrants, each containing syllables of the royal name and title in Devanagari script. The cartouche is flanked by traditional Nepali decorative elements and surmounted by the honorific 'Shri Shri' in Devanagari at the top. The entire central device is surrounded by a continuous beaded border. The Bikram Sambat regnal year 2048 appears as part of the peripheral legend inscribed in Devanagari script.
