| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national emblem of Sri Lanka at center, featuring a golden lion passant holding a sword, set within a roundel surrounded by a decorative border of petals and an outer ring of stylized lotus petals. Flanking the central emblem at the base are a sun disc to the right and a crescent moon to the left, with a traditional Sinhalese oil lamp (punkalasa) at the foot.
