Obverse description Central device depicts two crossed flags of Ajman surmounted by the Arabic numeral '٥' (5) in the field between the flag heads, with crossed sabres below forming an X-shaped heraldic emblem. The Arabic legend 'حُكُومَة عجمَان وَتوابعُهَا' curves along the upper periphery, flanked by star ornaments, while the Latin legend 'GOVERNMENT OF AJMAN & ITS DEP' arcs along the lower periphery. The entire design is set within a beaded border.

The name 'ALBERT LUTHULI' is inscribed in bold Latin letters across the lower portion of the field, with the denomination '5' rendered in a large numeral below the name, and 'RIYALS' inscribed beneath. The engraver's initials 'SDG' appear to the right of the denomination at the base. The design is framed by a beaded border.
