Beschrijving voorzijde Central field features the national emblem of Qatar, comprising two crossed scimitars curving outward, with a traditional dhow under sail depicted upon stylized waves between the blades, flanked by a small island bearing two palm trees. Aanvullende informatie

Qatar's transition from the Qatar & Dubai Currency Board to the Qatar Central Bank was completed in the 1970s, but pattern coinage continued to be commissioned sporadically for decades afterward — often as presentations for dignitaries or for internal evaluation of proposed designs that never reached circulation. The KM#Pn7 designation confirms this piece never entered public issue.

Gold patterns from Gulf states in this period are genuinely rare in the numismatic record, with survival in single or low double digits not unusual.
