Beschrijving voorzijde Central field bears the large Persian numeral '۵' (5) in high relief, with the word 'ریال' (Rial) below it, all enclosed within a wreath of laurel and oak branches tied at the base. A circular Persian legend naming Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi Aryamehr, Shahanshah of Iran, runs around the upper periphery. The Solar Hijri date appears in Persian numerals at the lower base of the wreath. A small Pahlavi crown device surmounts the top of the wreath, framing the inscription above.

Beschrijving keerzijde The traditional Imperial Iranian arms occupy the central field: a lion passant guardant, facing left, holds an upraised scimitar in its right forepaw, with a radiant rising sun emerging from behind its back — the classic 'Shir-o-Khorshid' (Lion and Sun) emblem. The Pahlavi imperial crown is depicted above the sun's rays at the top of the design. The entire device is encircled by a wreath composed of wheat ears on the left and oak branches on the right, tied at the base. Below the lion, the denomination legend 'پنج ریال' (Five Rials) is inscribed in Arabic script across the lower field. A fine beaded border runs along the coin's rim.
