Yemen's Central Bank was established only in 1971, and this note belongs to the bank's earliest emission series — a period when the country was still consolidating institutions following years of civil war between royalist and republican factions that had only formally ended in 1970. Bradbury Wilkinson handled much of the Arab world's security printing during this decade, and the Yemen account was part of that broader regional portfolio.
P#12 is catalogued as a single-signature variety, though the series ran with minor differences that occasionally create attribution confusion at auction.
