Obverse description Central field bears the elaborate toughra (royal cipher) of the Khalifa Abdullah ibn Muhammad, rendered in calligraphic Arabic script within a raised circular border. The denomination of 5 qirsh (٥ قرش) appears below the toughra in Arabic numerals. The entire design is surrounded by a decorative wreath of stylized leaves and seed pods forming the coin's outer border.

Reverse description Within a raised circular inner border, the field contains a three-line Arabic inscription identifying the mint and regnal year: the mint name 'Omdurman' (أم درمان) with the phrase 'ضرب في' (struck in) above, and the AH date 1311 with the regnal year 11 below. The design is enclosed by the same decorative wreath of stylized leaves and seed pods as the obverse, creating a uniform border treatment on both sides.
