| Obverse description | Central device depicts the Eagle of Saladin displayed, with wings spread and head turned to dexter, perched above a ribbon scroll bearing an Arabic legend. The eagle's breast is charged with a shield bearing two five-pointed stars in the field. The Hijri date 1380 appears to the right of the eagle and the Gregorian date 1960 to the left, both in Eastern Arabic numerals.
