Egypt issued this coin in 1986 to mark Warrior's Day, the annual commemoration of the October 1973 crossing of the Suez Canal — the opening assault of the Yom Kippur War in which Egyptian forces breached the Bar-Lev Line, widely considered impenetrable by Israeli military planners.
