Obverse description Blue and multicolour note printed in intaglio, with a vignette of the helmeted head of Britannia positioned at the left against an elaborate guilloche underprint. At the lower centre, a finely engraved St. George and Dragon motif serves as a secondary design element. The face value, issuing authority title, and the traditional promise-to-pay inscription appear in letterpress, accompanied by the Chief Cashier's signature.
