| Reversbeschreibung | The central field features the official logo of the National Bank of Egypt, depicted as a stylized architectural emblem comprising a rounded rectangular frame enclosing a shield-like form supported by three columnar elements, evoking strength and institutional heritage. Below the logo, the bank's name appears in two lines: first in Arabic naskh script 'البنك الأهلى المصرى', followed beneath a horizontal rule by the Latin legend 'NATIONAL BANK OF EGYPT'. The upper arc of the field bears the commemorative inscription '١٢٥ سنة' (125 Years) flanked by the founding year '١٨٩٨م' to the left and the anniversary year '٢٠٢٣م' to the right, marking the bank's 125th anniversary. |

The National Bank of Egypt, founded in 1898 under a British concession, operated as Egypt's central bank until 1961, when those functions were transferred to the newly established Central Bank of Egypt. Modern commemorative issues bearing the NBE name therefore invoke an institution that no longer holds monetary authority — a deliberate act of institutional nostalgia by the issuing state.
The .720 silver fineness places this coin in a long tradition of circulating-quality silver alloys, the same standard used in many mid-20th century Egyptian coinage issues before the country abandoned silver for base metals entirely in the late 1960s.
