| 背面描述 | The reverse features two central design elements celebrating the RAF's Schneider Trophy victory of 1931. In the upper portion, the Schneider Trophy itself is depicted in detailed relief, showing the sculpted figure of a winged airman riding a cresting wave atop a stepped plinth. Below, a finely engraved Supermarine S.6B seaplane is shown in flight over stylized water, its floats and elliptical wings rendered in precise detail. The curved legend HISTORY OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE arcs along the upper periphery, with SCHNEIDER TROPHY VICTORY 1931 inscribed to the right of the trophy, and FIVE POUNDS along the lower border. |

The Schneider Trophy was a seaplane racing competition held between 1913 and 1931, and Britain's three consecutive wins — 1927, 1929, and 1931 — retired the trophy permanently. The 1931 victory at Calshot is the one most commemorated: the flight was nearly cancelled when the British government withdrew funding, saved only by a private donation of £100,000 from Lady Houston. The winning Supermarine S.6B, designed by R.J. Mitchell, directly informed the structural and aerodynamic development of the Spitfire.
Guernsey has issued commemoratives on this subject several times. The 2008 date marks the 80th anniversary of the 1928 race held at Calshot.
