| 背面描述 | Three facing portrait busts of prominent figures associated with RAF Bomber Command: inventor Barnes Wallis, aircraft designer Roy Chadwick, and Wing Commander Guy Gibson VC, arranged prominently in the central field. Above the portraits, a World War II heavy bomber is depicted in flight. The legend 'HISTORY OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE' arcs across the upper periphery, with 'RAF BOMBER COMMAND' and the denomination 'FIVE POUNDS' inscribed in the lower portion of the design. |

Bomber Command remains one of the most politically awkward commemorations in British military history. The campaign cost over 55,000 aircrew lives — a higher casualty rate than any other Allied service branch — yet its veterans waited until 2012 for a dedicated national memorial in London, long after surviving airmen had lobbied for decades. Jersey's 2008 issue predates that recognition by four years.
