Issued to mark the point at which Elizabeth II surpassed Victoria as Britain's longest-reigning monarch — a threshold crossed on 9 September 2015 — this Gibraltar piece appeared the following year as part of a wave of commemorative silver from the Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories that collectively flooded the market around that date.
