Issued to mark England's hosting of UEFA Euro 1996, this was one of several commemorative crown-sized pieces released by Channel Island authorities capitalizing on the tournament. Guernsey had no footballing stake in the competition — the island fields its own team but was not a UEFA member side — making this squarely a commercial issue riding a major sporting event rather than any expression of local participation.
