| 背面描述 | The reverse features two highly detailed relief renderings of the English Electric Canberra jet bomber set against a mirror-proof field: a side-profile view of the aircraft in flight occupies the upper portion, while a larger plan view from above dominates the centre, clearly showing the aircraft's distinctive wing configuration and fuselage detail. The inscription ENGLISH ELECTRIC CANBERRA appears to the left of the central motif. The curved legend HISTORY OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE arcs along the upper periphery within a raised inner border, and the denomination FIVE POUNDS is inscribed along the lower periphery. |

The English Electric Canberra entered RAF service in 1951 as Britain's first jet bomber, and went on to serve with over a dozen air forces across four decades. Gibraltar has issued commemorative crown-sized pieces tied to British aviation milestones with some regularity, typically timed to anniversaries with tenuous local connection — the Canberra's link to the Rock is thin, but the type was still operational with the RAF's 39 Squadron until 2006, giving the 2008 issue at least a plausible retirement commemoration angle.
