Additional information

Alderney has issued commemorative five-pound pieces under Crown Dependency authority since the 1990s, licensing its name to mint contractors — primarily the Pobjoy Mint — for collector-market products with no circulation mandate. This 2020 Remembrance issue falls squarely in that tradition: a gold-plated copper piece produced for the retail gift market rather than any monetary function.

The .999 gold plating is applied in microns over a copper core. Worth knowing before a buyer mistakes "gold clad" for a bullion proposition.
